Hi - my payslip was a bit healthier today, can anyone else confirm that they have not had their 5yr SAYE (maturing March 2020) payment taken off today's payslip? I just want to make sure it's not a mistake and other people are seeing the same?

(5x12 payments = 60x payments taken by Tesco 4-weekly instead of monthly, therefore finishing 1 month earlier for each year of saving)

What was the bonus incentive on the five year scheme , was it so many months of extra payments added for account if you continued to save for the full five years ?

It will be a nightmare if Tesco shares get hit by brexit on Oct 31st, we could loose thousands.

Grim up north Wasn't sure if bonus was still applicable or wether the incentive had been stopped - another perk gone

Kaled78 You possibly won't loose half as much if anything with the shares being hit by Brexit as you did with the accounting scandal caused by the directors in the company which still haven't recovered fully with some investors still having no faith in the company .

I believe...but don't quote me on this, that you still get the option to buy/sell the shares. The same as you would if you stayed with the company thoughout the whole term.

You get the option to buy the shares at the option price, this applies to all saye that you have.

i think he meant.. if the price tumbles from today's price we lose 60%ish potential gain, after all these years in the plan it would be a kick in the face for brexit to screw the price months before they can be sold

I haven't done the SAYE scheme before (I'm currently part way through one) - and I did not know that this anomaly happened - that is, you've paid up your 60 monthly payments, but you have to wait several months to exercise the option to buy the shares!

Why can Tesco not adjust this so that they only take 12 payments a year, and maybe just skip taking it in period 13 of each year?

Would seem fairer

Could really do with some more info/opinion on this topic. I don't want to sell my shares if 6 months down the road Tesco sell their Asia business and there's a special dividend being paid. Anyone a bit more in the know?

They will sell it, it's all about politics, if Dave sells the asia business, that will result in Tesco having short term increases in share price allowing Lewis to leave on a high, get whatever performance related goodbye bonus as a result before handing the reins over to the new CEO (who he'll be setting up to fail long term by the sale of one of its more profitable businesses).

If your planning to hold them you would be better of waiting till 2021 when the extent/lack of a trade deal with the EU will be known. As a large % of our food is imported from the EU or via EU trade deals this could have a huge impact on our business either way which may well see our shares bounce if things stay pretty much the same as now.
