Title: Investigation meeting
Post by: Tazd9t9 on 30-08-22, 03:34AM
Just a quick question, I have an investigation meeting coming up and wanted to know when they decide if its gross misconduct (I am fairly sure it isnt) but do they tell you that at the point it goes to investigation or after?

With the changes coming now to Tesco it is better to stay to see if you recieve redundancy once you do than find better job

Not so easy if you've been dismissed for gross misconduct  :-X

Holding out for redundancy seems a long shot - I think Tesco can manage their numbers (downwards) through natural waste/staff turnover.

Dismissed for gross misconduct? Only if you're daft enough to let it go that far. Just resign - we're on chicken shop / burger flipping wages now. Its not hard to find another dead end job these days.

With the customers spending far less in tesco and everything becoming more expensive Tesco will be reducing staff numbers soon and slowly moving to the postion of aldi and lidl where they have smaller amount of staff and fo more work.It is only an matter of time. Also redundancy will not be forever soon Tesco will stop redundancy however not now but after a few more cuts. The first being removing more night shift from more store not all but many more and the second being removing managers and replacing them with shift leaders. The Tesco CEO stated in the quarter report that customers are changing their shopping habits which they said last time when they did redundancy.  In my store it is becoming an disaster with no staff especially on nights with most leaving and not being replaced not 1 person has come when 15 people left. So it is coming redundancy but not for all people for didcot they aren't and drivers they aren't. However for other staff they are depending when they work and if tesco wants to change their hours for example if you work night if they want to remove some nights they will do so. Or if you do quiet hours in the morning when there is no customers. I believe they will soon move onto zero hours contracts.

Burger shop workers are paid more than get cash in hand. They also aren't pressured and overworked.

It is just an excuse to put pressure on staff to leave so they don't pay redundancy and get new staff on lower wages and no premiums.

If it does fall under misconduct or gross misconduct you need to be aware that you can only hand in your notice up until that last meeting. If it goes that when the last chance you have to hand in your notice is before the breakout. Once you are called back in to hear the findings of the disciplinary manager you can no,longer hand in your notice.

Usually if its gross misconduct you will know already where its going as your likely to be suspended either once a manager has been made aware of the allegation against you or straight away after the investigation.

Is anything you say actually fact? I notice on every post you are saying what is coming and by doing that could be putting people in fear when it is not necessary. I think we can accept changes will continue to come in one way or the other but the way you word alot of your comments is as if you know and are speaking facts.

Thats what i thought as that happened to a colleague in a previous job. I don't think what I have done is gross miscobduct there was no theft or violence or anything like that, just wondered if they told you basically straight away like as you say by suspending you

It's now 9 days since your original post? There are time constraints for any investigation, and if by now you've not been approached, or received a letter stating the time of the meeting and what the investigation is about, then I'd keep my head down and say nowt!

Gross misconduct you would certainly have been immediately escorted from the building with paid suspension and an explanation as to the reason why!
