Has anyone any idea once an application for a Ill Health Retirement Pension is applied forhow long the process takes. Verbal contact made December 2022 all paperwork and doctors letter completed at end of February 2023, then all sent to pension trustees for consideration

It takes several months, and there maybe some 'resistance' on their behalf to pay it. Certainly in second half of May I would gently push for an answer.

Are you seeking full or partial ill health pension ?

Been advised it takes a minimum of 3 months from when you return paperwork and GP letter.

I got finished on illhealth but the pension did not apply to me, however when I got finished I had problems with the staff card after 32years in service the rules had changed that when you are finished on I'll health you lose it, all I got from Tesco staff was loads of meetings and because it was an accident at work it was my fault, also I have found out now they were telling people I had had training which I did not and the managers at tesco would not give the doctors name that attended me and saw the accident so please very careful.

Apply in writing for your training records and for the name of the doctor.  If they do not comply see a solicitor, many will do a free initial consultation.
