To Infinity and Beyond! A bit too far for some it seems.

Infinity has now been changed to only show the picking screen to read-only users.  Now almost totally useless in helping drivers do their job.  Feels like we have gone back to the stone age.  :(

Not sure how seeing your run on infinity helped you in your role at all? I may be wrong but how does it help?

Van allocation in department to see what run you are on and you have a manifest / SDS to see what drops you have?

gomezz

In several ways.  For example being able to plan ahead if you are given extras and can work out an optimum route before you get in.  Being able to checked a stored order status if unable to get hold of duty.  On the personal / social side seeing what the chances of finishing early are so planning a beer / takeaway.

To be fair I would be happy if all we could see were the delivery times and partial post codes.  Possibly also the short order code for stored order checking.  Although we already have access to the full customer details on the PDA and the paperwork so it is not really a stretch to allow access via the app as well.  Perhaps there needs to be a new category of access for drivers distinct from that for pickers who are the ones actually interested in the picking details.

You have a estimated finish time as it is?
Finishing early doesnt mean you go home early you just end up working in the shop
whats to plan just follow the route given
if your experienced enough you can work out where to fit in an extra delivery.

In our store we have the option of going home early unpaid.  As it happens I work an extra regular overtime shift so usually do more hours than I am contracted for anyway.

If you didn't find the system useful to you fair enough.  Many of us do though and there has been a lot of pushback in our store and elsewhere.

The status and resource panel, on Infinity being removed due to privacy concerns is one step back. The software is capable of being user specific, ie, it can be modified at source to reflect each individuals details after they have logged in. This would mean they are only able to see their details on the runs, and the other runs simply shown as active, and not allocated. It is an incredibly simple source code tweak which i am sure the Tesco software team are aware of. If they just put their minds to it privacy would be respected, and drivers jobs would be made easier. We are all encouraged to slip over to our Tesco app and complete anything from shift filling to holidays. All these are person specific, and others are not able to see any other persons requests etc. I think it is just a matter of time before the whole colleague experience in completed via the app. maybe the details in real time of each individuals shift will be also included within the app, instead of via frog. watch this space

I accept that only being able to see the details of your own allocated run is the way to go but being able to follow the progress of whoever is on the van before you can be useful.  For example, if you see them running very late you can alert the shift runner that maybe your own run needs to be moved to another van if it is still to go out on time.

I hate the fact my drivers can see their rounds, have them call me up to complain if they're on overtime, shouldn't be able to see any of Infinity I believe.

gomezz

Are you saying they are as meek as a lamb and say nothing if the first they see of their allocated run is when the come in to work?  Of course not.  Whingers and whiners will always  whinge and whine.  All this has done is postpone them whinging and whining until they can do it to your face.

2 things found it useful for, 1st was seeing stored orders if couldn't get through to store. Also my normal SDS doesn't always allow phone calls.

2nd was reprinting labels when they had fallen off. We have a real problem with this on ambient trays and when loading for evening routes and managers or team leaders not about was a real help. Now we have to drag them out of meetings and generally waste time looking for them.

Exactly this! I can pretty much guarantee that we've had sick calls that may not have happened if driver had not seen they've got what they deem a tough run that evening.

all probably GDPR but they could take off names and phone numbers and just simply show addresses, I used to load DelM8 up an hour before my shift at home and figure out where I was going so I came in and knew where to go in the dark, now just turn up and the 1st 15 mins is mayhem van checks, loading delm8 etc they've made it harder.  Won't use co pilot its hopeless
