Stores / Ken Murphys Pay and Bonus
Last post by Willie Low Old Timer - Today at 08:52PM
We all know that CEO's are paid obscene amounts of money compared to the workers who are actually doing all the hard work on the shop floor or in distribution, our Ken is no different as we have seen this week.
Although we can't actually do anything to stop this all of us who own shares in Tesco can vote against the renumeration package that rewards Ken for cutting staff to increase profit whilst making our job even harder.
As i said we can't stop his pay package as we collectively don't have enough shares to affect it but if enough of us do this the board may take notice ;D  ;D , who knows perhaps we will get a "Performance share plan" for keeping shelves stocked and dealing with customers on a daily basis!!

It was for all night managers going from £4000 to £5000 for their night annual premium. It was to put them on the same night premium as distribution night managers.

Quote from: Redundant on 14-05-24, 11:17PMI was made redundant after 10 years service, I took a new job before I got my redundancy money, do you think I could still claim this, after all I did work for there for 10 years
Was this not explained whilst you were in consultation, or did you leave before the consultation period started?

During the team leader redundancy cull in 2014, there was a proviso in the conditions that if you found alternative employment during the consultations and could prove the offer was made during it, you could leave early to take up the new position and still receive the full redundancy amount.

I know there was questions relating to this condition being on offer during the 2019 stock control and deli counter redundancies, but I was no longer a rep and happy to take the redundancy offer as I wasn't seeking another job.

Do you recall any mention of this during your consultation? Do you still have the notes regarding frequently asked questions?

If you left before the redundancy consultations started, then you wouldn't be eligible for redundancy.

Would this be an increase in premium for managers only or for all night staff?
There was no general increase in night premium for B/C staff - I did read on here that maybe managers were getting an extra £500 or £1000 - but as I'm not a manager and I have no manager friends - I do not know whether that is true or not?

The pay review did not mention the increase in the night premium rate. Mine didnt anyway!! Anyone had a different experience?
