The political levy currently makes up 10p per week of your Usdaw contribution rate. If you opt out then your weekly deduction will not decrease but you will be entitled to an annual refund of the political levy portion (i.e £5.20 for the year) directly from Usdaw. Usdaw currently process this as Tesco payroll are not set up to deduct the additional reduced politically exempt rates at present.
How to withdraw your political contribution?

Ask your Union Rep or contact your local Branch to obtain a Political Fund Exemption Notice Form F1(b).

You will then cease to contribute to the Labour Party as from the following January (immediate exemption when submitted with Union Membership Form).

Once an initial refund has been made all future refunds are issued automatically on an annual basis.

1. Opt out of political fund
2. Request refund
3. Receive refund
4. Receive refund automatically on an annual basis in January each year
