How can i get the tesco staff app called "inform" ??? Where do i have to register to get the app.
First up you need a a My Tesco Login to use inform, this will also let you use Yammer.
Go to www.mytescologin.com (http://www.mytescologin.com), select "sign up to MyTescoLogin"
Enter your employee number (located on your clockcard or wage slip if you don't know it) in the following way e.g
UK12345678 & password Tesco with your date of birth typed in this way. Say your birthday was 11th November 1992 it would be 11111992. Tick that you agree the T&C's.
Decide your username and password. Wait for the confirmation email. Go to www.yammer.com/uk.tesco.com (http://www.yammer.com/uk.tesco.com) and enter your Tesco email address e.g joebloggs@global.tesco.org and your password.
Now you've got a @global.tesco.org username you can access Inform.
Go to http://labs.ocset.net/inform. (http://labs.ocset.net/inform.)
Choose download for iOS or Android. Windows phones are not currently supported but will be soon.
On Android phones you will need to go to "Settings" then "Applications" then tick to allow Unknown installations.
When the app has downloaded go to "Downloads" choose Inform and then selet Gmail verify. Choose accept then install.
When you have done this choose "Open" then enter your Tesco global.org email address and password.
Choose either store name or number. You can now either text search or scan barcodes . You must be connected to WIFI or 3G/4G to use this app
Thanks for the information really appreciate it. I saw 1 of my colleagues using it at work but he couldn't explain it to me clearly as you just done.
Also can tesco check or go in to the data ie know everthing what items your scanning on your phone via the app?? I'm just abit concerned around data protection here
I've had it for a while it cones in handy when I can't get a pda, also it gives you a picture of most things so makes it easier to find things. Only thing I've found is I cannot scan a bar code with my phone so have to type in a TPN or EAN every time.
But can tesco look in to find out what products your scanning via the app.
As you are downloading info from them I would be surprised if they didn't keep a record of what items you scanned.
When I went to install the app a list of "permissions" ( access rights etc.) came up, read it carefully, if you are concerned about what is on the list then do not install the app or install it on a 'clean' phone.
I don't know what would happen if any of the areas that the app requires access to were encrypted.
On the Inform ap, does anyone know how to delete the information off after scanning or searching a product?
>:D
Don't do this. I have been told by a security expert that this enables the company to gain access into your social media via your phone. Means no more anonminity on VLH.
Forgive my lack of technical knowledge, but how?

Please forgive me but this is complete bovine excrement. The company would be breaching the computer misuse act and data protection act and would be liable to criminal prosecution for doing so. Very unlikely that Tesco would do such a thing given their current fraud investigation.
Ok, thought i might try a different approach. Don't subsidise tesco w8th YOUR own device.

So you're using an expensive piece of equipment, paid for by yourself, on the shop floor. Have you wondered what might happen if it gets damaged or pickpocketed? Do you have insurance that will be happy to pay out, in those circumstances?
Do you know something we don't, like that T*sco is actually run by a dear little old lady who can't afford to provide proper equipment for the staff and so we should do it for her?
Jesus, surely everyone has been keeping their phone on them on the shop floor for ages already. The app is brilliant and I use it a great deal for myself and customers.
The point is pandaman, is that you should not need to use your own device. No doubt the app is fantastic and of immense help to you, but I'm certain that this app would work equally well on a device that belongs to tesco, a multi million profit company.
I agree with Tenko. Why would anyone be willing to use their own device for work purposes?
Pathetic.

Not so much so. Inform does not work with Windows phones and what does the company provide? Nokia Lumia's with Windows 8.
Hello, I have made an yammer account and a MyTescoLogin account but I still can't get on the inform app anyone else having the same problem? or how can i fix this?
Thanks in advance.
I've downloaded the Inform app to my iPod Touch.
Which device are you using PP? I had to go into Settings>Profiles and agree to install it before it worked for me.
Inform now also shows real-time delivery information. Useful for anyone working in warehouse/backdoor.
Inform does work with windows phones. There is a group on Yammer called Informsupport that gives plenty help. Are you downloading it from https://labs.ocset.net/inform
Have a new mobile cant login to the inform app is there some kind of server problems with the app at the moment ?
Yes they are updating it not on till tomorrow I think
Has anyone tried to log in inform app still wont let me
sorted you have to register again at
https://myaccount.global.tesco.org
When you get in touch with them, warn them that the Robber Barons are raping and pillaging the company you work for.
Advise them these barons are jeapordising the livelihoods of over 300,00 colleagues with their 'punt'. That, he has culled some of his best talent sticking a large proportion of his clutch of eggs in one big Booker basket.
A 'Turnaround plan' could end up a meander into the forest and out the other end into a wasteland.
Good luck though Dave! Wa***r
I've re-registered and now have a tesco.com email address but still cannot log onto inform.
Is there a helpdesk number?
If I've forgotten my user name, how do I recover it?
anyone know the new passwords etc to get back into inform, been knocked out of yammer and inform, tried everything to get back in but to no avail.
why they mess with these things is beyond me,just gets peoples backs up when they are unable to get back in.
Why the hell would you want to download the inform app ?

Why the hell would you want to download the inform app ?
if you bother to find out what it is you may consider downloading it.
I repeat an earlier point made/asked by others, why would anybody put company software on their own 'expensive' equipment.
Not the OP, but to answer your question Yorkshire Dave and Nomad - because (rightly or wrongly) I am carrying around my phone and checking it regularly already, the inform app is quicker and easier to use than the Tesco provided alternatives, the cost to me is negligible since I charge my phone at work anyway and there is wifi provided. You may say that I am subsidising them providing the needed equipment, this may be partially true, but Tesco will never give everyone their own PDA and I would rather spend my working time doing something mildly interesting than waiting around for a PDA or MPC. It's for my benefit that I use it as I always have access to my phone whereas company equipment is shared. I upgrade my phone regularly regardless so the wear and tear really doesn't bother me.
Well said shopworker, plus it can come in handy if you are doing a shop in any tesco and you need to check a price.
PS. Yorkshire dave probably thinks it will cost him money :D
Indeed, I've saved a fair few quid because of it.
Ultimately I have/use inform because it benefits me. And whilst a PDA can do the same job, they're a pain to use, and frankly going to get one, signing it out, and carrying it around during your shift is a hassle I don't want.
Now, if Tesco or any manager tried to mandate inform use as part of the job, they'd be told to do one (nicely of course).
As far as I'm concerned Inform is the best thing since sliced bread. It's not very often I praise anything that Stressco does however Inform is excellent.
Totally agree, the same thing with yammer, learnt more about my job from there than any manager could teach me. Unfortunately still unable to access either of them now after they messed about with them >:(
Keeps telling me dosnt recongise my employee Number .. has anyone come up with what to do next
same here >:(
Are you putting "uk" in front of the employee number?
Yes yes yes :D it is frustrating and confusing for ex,change password and my employee number is accepted, log in or re register, does not recognise,
perhaps not helping myself by trying to do yammer and inform, what with passwords and usernames getting to me i think the laptop will be through the window soon :'(
What website are you using to register?
For yammer i am using ourtesco, then click on yammer and follow instructions.
They changed the logins recently so maybe its that, I used https://myaccount.global.tesco.org/
Other than that, I have no idea.
Thanks for your help, but this is the one that does not accept my employee number.
[gmod]Please do not quote immediately prior post(s).[/gmod]
anyone else having problems updating to inform version 1.86 on an android phone
The problem I have, is that Tesco encourage you to use your own mobile to benefit them, but if someone knocks your phone out your hand, or if you drop it whilst doing tesco business, it''s for you to pick up the cost of repair, then they say it is only optional.
Does anyone have the direct line for help with inform from calling from home
Managers in my store ask people if they have the app. Unless you have this they say phones should be in locker. Downloading the app is optional and no pressure is put on staff to use there own personal mobile for company business. Colleagues have had there phones broken and taken from the locker rooms in my store but Tesco tell staff you leave/take your property in these areas at your own risk. All said I have my phone, wallet and keys etc on me at all times and the managers don't mind. I always make sure my wallet has no money in it if being put on checkouts. Phones are used on the shop floor in company time for too many things other than company business. Facebook, YouTube and Gambling are some of the waste of times in my store.
You forgot to add the mass of people who just have to check Yammer at 4.45pm on a Saturday when by co-incidence The football results come in.
londoner83
The list is endless.
A few are well known for looking at Shemales too.
Hi, I know this thread is a few years old, but can anyone help with trying to register for my account login used for yammer etc and inform app?
Every time I enter my employee number I keep getting a '1727 error message' appearing?
TIA
You need to go on comms on a in-store mpc and register with to get a .......@Tesco.com sign in. That will let us use inform and Yammer
Does anyone know how to get inform trusted on your iphone?
You can download it from the below link
https://labs.ocset.net/inform
It's a company app, not an apple one so you need to allow it on your phone.
Surely any app that does not get put through the official vetting process should not be allowed anywhere near your phone?
I have had on my own phone, for years, and no issues. It's the only app I have like this.
Apple only allow approved developers to launch apps on the App Store, they are more protected because of this but it's up to you what you do. Yammer is on the App Store but it's a Microsoft app, inform is a closed app, just for stores so I assume that's why not on.
Been trying to get the Tesco email registration to work for over a year, it won't recognise my number. Left it and just tried again after literally a year but still the same so I still can't get inform
Email is only for signing in, it's not a live email account. It is just your user name for signing in, to inform, yammer and comms.
Only senior team and above have an active email account.
how does the app update if it's not on the play store?
I've had it for over a year but I've never seen it update like the apps on google play
I love it, it's a godsend on front end when I can just type something in to get a barcode & check availability for a customer.
I get updates, the updates are sent out by the developer. I have no idea if on play store as I'm Apple. Anyone can launch apps on android but only apple approved developers can launch apps of the App Store. Inform is loaded from ourtesco so it's neither. Yammer gives you links to download from the different stores but inform is different and yammer is Microsoft. We just have our company view.

Tesco Mobile staff as well, they need them to be able to sign in to alll the systems they use

Wait yammer still works? I've not had access since I joined tesco October 2018 and told yammer doesn't exist anymore.
What I'm annoyed is I have access to pda but I still can't sign in to another except the newspaper thing.. So... I have to use inform and no way to charge my phone. A pain when the pda has more info like when next deliver will be as inform doesn't tend to have that info.
How do I get access to yammer as it says I don't have access.. But also how do I fix pda login as it says I don't exist but if I try to register it says I already have access
My manager couldn't help but agrees I should have access and it's "barbaric" to have to take photos of the bar codes for gap scans etc
It's one sign in for all. If you have inform you already have the sign in for Yammer. You just need the app.
@person7
Your manager couldn't help ??? Seriously ???
I would suggest you go see your SM and innocently drop your manager in it, by asking the SM, if they have knowledge of how you can get round the problem of the PDA sign on, as it has everyone you've asked flummoxed. He won't know, he'll suggest you ask your manager, you then reply " he doesn't know, shall I phone another store to ask?"
Write down your PDA serial number, then phone help desk so they can access your PDA and either delete your original sign on, refresh it, or check it for a fault.

I thought any employee with a TPX ID also has an email option, those with a TPX ID just need to set their @T***o.com up through outlook or office 365 and you have email, office and onedrive
When you sign in you can sign in to email but it's the store account, if you have that in your privileges. It's all a matter of what you get within the role you do and it all goes back to your employee number so it's the role.
Office is available, I know the team leader uses it at checkouts.
having issue after issue trying to sort my inform account, anyone able to check the stock availability or date of next delivery for the single hot wheels cars.
barcode 074299057854
for the Hanley 5851. possibly surrounding areas too please if anyone would be kind enough, HR cant get their act together to help me
You can't search for the individual make of hot wheels car on the system, all individual cars have the same barcode. You've tons of them in stock and your next local extra and superstore also has a moderate to decent stock of individual cars, however, I couldn't tell you whether they've the model you're after.
seriously? how many does the system say, i know they're all the same barcode. it seems non-food just dont put them out, haha, had a word with one last week and they said they couldnt see any in the warehouse, im only allowed in the grocery and fresh warehouse so couldnt check myself for the massive blue box
Edit: guessing trent vale is the superstore and longton extra is the other?
601 in stock and yep your other stores you mentioned are the ones i was on about
cheers bud, i'll have a word with non-food and ask them what they're playing at, haha
No problem, they've either got it sat on a delivery cage they haven't worked yet, it's just come instore today so they didnt see it when last asked, lost in the extra storage bit and may never been seen again or stock record error, but with 601 i pray it isn't a stock error
yeah, that much of a stock error is a massive concern, there is some stolen occasionally, but i only ever see maybe 4 or so missing from the packages in the box. will look for my friendliest non-food friend and set them on a mission. haha
Hi all
I have done all this to download it to my S9+ and i still can't open the download, I don't get any error messages at all and yes i have given my phone access unknown downloads, please help as i need this software as I'm visual impaired and I'm a stacker by night
Thanks in advance

Ask your manager to sit down with you and set it up on your phone.
Labs.ocset.net/inform then follow the instructions
I've recently had to re-download the mpro5 app as I have a new phone but now it wont let me sign in at all. Just keeps giving me the option to register a company or start a free trial. Obviously I need this to do the checks in the am and pm. Any help or similar experiences please?
It is a while since I had to help someone but I think you need to put in uk, then the company name, then store number. No gaps.
When you register a company it's mprotesc0uk (0 being o). When that's picked up then you'll need to log in using the Te5c0 account button in the bottom left hand corner.
It's also worth pointing out that syncing your phone at least once a week because you can complete your checks but it doesn't always work properly. When you're logged in tap World>Settings>Sync (bottom right hand corner) and then the anti clockwise arrow in the top right hand corner.
I couldn't care less about using the app. But having it on my phone gives me an excuse to carry it on the shop floor. And stops the morons whining about it during staff search. >:D
That is the only reason I ever downloaded that app, gave me a valid reason to keep my phone on my person as the last store I was in had items going missing from staff lockers on a far to regular basis for me to risk leaving anything of value in them.
