I wanna whish all my warehouse colleagues, admin & support clerks the best of luck and good will in what ever they plan to do once they leave here shortly.

As legacy workers, your experience is going to missed and we are already starting to see the challenges this is gonna bring us here in Transport and for store colleagues.

So once again, best of luck. Enjoy your time away from Tesco and remember its not the end, it just the beginning.

Stores / Re: VLH CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT

Little Nomad, in his initial announcement informing us of his decision to close the site, made it very clear that it would not be handed over to just anybody, and details of members would not shared.

That is certainly a concerning consideration.  Any successor to VLH would need to establish its credibility in its own right and not automatically inherit *any* user details from VLH.  Any useful information that could be transferred would need to be stripped of all user details.

Quote from: imprint on 12-05-24, 05:46AM@LittleNomad, I'm very sorry for your loss.

This forum is such a valuable resource, it would be a loss to everyone if it went offline.

I can help! I have experience managing forums, including server administration, and I'd be happy to host this one. Here's how I propose we handle user data:

To ensure a smooth transition, user accounts with usernames and passwords would be preserved.

For user privacy, all emails could be permanently deleted during the transfer. We can discuss the option of deleting direct messages as well, depending on user preference.

@LittleNomad, since I can't DM, feel free to email me.
Whoa some random who just signed up wants to take over the forum and have access to our details?

Any news if this site is being taken over/kept going or anything? It would be a shame to lose all the good info on here

Indeed, at the end of the day it's the employee only to decide to proceed, and the rep can only support that decision.

I wish you well in this, you're giving this colleague a lot of effort, support and your personal time in this, and again I would encourage you to consider becoming a union rep, as I can guarantee others hearing of your commitment will start coming asking for advice or to accompany them.

A union rep has more information and support at their disposal, and as this site is to end within days a lot of knowledge you could gain from others will be lost.

Good luck

Employee has contacted ACAS, side of story given. Will have to wait on ACAS response now (if they make any), I know one suggestion was to draw a line under this and i get that, but as its what the employee has decided to do and as its their right to do so I will help where I can

@grim up north the idling side of it isnt relevant anymore as disciplinary appeal it was specifically set aside. For the record it was cold, no idea how cold as i wasnt there, i guess the moral of the story is even if your training or handbook or even definitions of unattended are ever on your side then dont depend on the company to see it that way, if theyre bent on giving out a disciplinary they will anyway regardless
