Title: Surplus food/empty shelves.
Post by: Nomad on 09-09-21, 07:34PM
I've read news articles of empty shelves and upset customers on the same days I've read congratulations to Tesco of the tons of surplus food they are giving away.

Any ideas on this contradiction ?

Some people do seem excessively fussy though I hold my hand up to being annoyed that my favourite brand of coffee has disappeared off the shelf.  So far not found an alternative that is anywhere near as good so living off yukky caffeine soup at the moment.

Coukd be the bakery waste and other items they give away to food banks.

Yeap it's the donation via store/customers charity.
Just look how much bakery/produce is given away every day.

Regarding upset it's more about reduced range. After all how long can we live on ketchup with mayo ;D sprinkled with a bit of oil for taste.
People should move to smaller continental stores for better range, they do not have problems with stock, atleast i did not noticed it nor my wife.

QuoteSigns cropping up in Tesco stores nationwide are causing a stir on social media as the supermarket giant imposes a new Easter rule.

The notices appear above Easter Eggs which are currently being sold in a three for €3 deal.

But in an attempt to stop greedy customers, the shop is not allowing anyone bulk buy more than 15 in one go.

How to start panic buying  8-)  8-)

Tesco should not be limiting how much of an item they sell to anyone. If people want to pay any of Tesco prices more full them.
