I just checked my payslip and I have no 10 percent bonus. Anyone else missing it. I come out with the same as I always do.
I have a "one-off payment" entry on my payslip but I was expecting it to be 10% of my overall wage. However it looks like it doesnt include holidays taken during that period.
Its "one off payment " and it's only for hours actually worked so not for holidays, isolating or any other time off .
As promised I have a one time payment in the left column of my payslip.
Yes, it was a bonus for working on those busy days leading up to Xmas and afterwards. It wasn't a bonus just for being employed by Tesco. If you were on holiday or isolating or whatever then you didn't earn it during that specific period.
Your One off payment will only be for the time you worked so Xmas Day ,Boxing Day and New Year Day Will not be counted in yor 10% if you took them off Very clever of Tesco as how many would of worked Xmas Day ;D
love my 10% better than nothing extra!
Hello,
I was a Christmas temp, finished at the start of January.
Does any one know if I will get paid the holiday pay that I have earned? On my payslip it said I earned around 5 or days holiday!
I never got a copy of my contract..
(Didn't get paid anything today lol)
Temp123 - Didn't you know that xmas temps at Tesco work for nothing. By far the easiest group of workers to screw over.

If it says you had 5 days holiday and you have not got it in your pay , then contact them to find out why , You should get it if pay slip say you have earned it ,, dont let it drop ,,
Depending on your working days you may have already had holiday. You need to use a holiday or bank holiday for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and 1st Jan. will also depend on your stores opening days. My store closed for the above days but not all stores do.
So as it reads on our board it's a 2.5% bonus paid on the 28th May??
I was told june pay but not 100% sure if thats correct. Was told managers getting theirs in May & everyone else in June. Oh & also managers are getting more than 2.5% too >:(
Managers are Not getting the COVID bonus that the colleagues are getting, so can we please stop with the managers are getting more and before us(colleagues) myth.
What managers are getting is there normal annual bonus they have got for the past few years.
And as far as I'm aware the actual amount is only potentially upto 2.5% if all the measures are achieved, which after profits were down is unlikely.
It does say in the detail that although Tesco missed there target colleagues will get the 2.5% bonus as a one off payment as recitation of work in the past year
its 2% for hourly pay colleagues
2.5%for salaried (managers) and distribution
Sorry my bad read it wrong!!

Managers are not getting the annual bonus as the profit target was missed. They are getting 2.5 % for their work over the last year, so although its not called a covid bonus, it basically is.
Exactly. So as I said, managers are getting 2.5% & hourly paid colleagues 2%. Doesn't matter what the bonus is called managers are still getting more than other colleagues. Not too sure which pay packet we see it in though.
May for managers
June for colleagues

Managers are not getting the covid bonus, they are getting the yearly bonus that all staff used to get but hourly colleagues lost in the last pay negotiations where they got a large pay rise and managers did not.
Tesco giving hourly colleagues a 2% covid bonus but not to managers is a bit of a spit in the face to management who were told they weren't getting a larger pay rise the same as everyone else but would still get their yearly bonus.
The managers should get their yearly bonus (which relates to targets in the business) but also be offered the covid bonus as they worked throughout the pandemic as well
You can clearly see who the managers are :D
It was a pay reduction for most of us on nights, personally I lost just over £650 and its a slow accumulation to get that back over years... Not over a short space of time... My pay is now less than when I started 10+ years back..... We lost our bonus, managers and distribution still get it, so it's a kick in the teeth for the hard work we do when they can still get it....
The ones who experienced all the c**p, the abuse, the spitting etc are the ones who got the lowest amount of bonus... So gotta be thankful they can bail and pass it on to someone else or just watch from the sidelines as a GA deals with it...
The 2% bonus that colleagues are receiving in our June pay, at what date do we still need to be employed by Tesco to receive it?
QuoteColleagues will need to have joined Tesco by 1 December 2020 to be eligible for this one-off
bonus 2021. You'll also need to still be employed on the date the bonus is paid, 25 June 2021.
Later on goes to say
QuoteQ. What if my final day at Tesco is on the payment date?
You will still be employed on the date the bonus is paid, so you will receive it.
So the 25th June. Feels rough for anyone leaving between now and then mind you.
It's a real kick in the teeth given so many new staff ( who worked right through the covid times ) are being let go and will lose out on this bonus , where as the staff who disappeared isolating for months on end will still get it even though they didn't work through the lockdown!

If you're referring to me with first part of your comment then sorry but wrong! Not management.
I also work nights and nobody i know of that works full shifts at night got a pay decrease, and if you have done the safety training you should know that you shouldn't get yourself into situations where you get abused.. if anyone was abusive or even attempted to spit at me I would happily walk away. Management in our store are very hard workers, at least on nights they are, who have been through the pandemic the same as the rest of us.
is/was there another bonus?
just got another £77 "one off payment" in this months (tomorrow, 25th june 2021) payslip. but i wasnt told of any new bonus since the one few months ago.
not complaining.. just wish it was a permanent raise to be honest lol
I think it was announced back in March/April that hourly paid colleagues were getting a 2% 'one off' "thank you" bonus in this month's pay packet.
I just feel for those colleagues on paltry contracts in my store who've had hardly any overtime this past month or so-effectively means they've got nothing .
Hi all
I left tesco on the 3rd June having handed my notice in on the 27th may and I took that whole week as holiday. I worked Sunday 30th may 9-6, had the monday off as bank holiday. Did 1-10 on both the wednesday and thursday which was my final day. I'm assuming the money for that week and the weeks holiday before (not too sure if there's a rule regarding holidays before you leave) I should've received in today's pay? But I've only received £88. I'm pretty sure I've been underpaid here. Has anyone any idea what could've gone on and how I go about getting it sorted? I can't log on to the colleague thing where you view your payslip as it says my account has been suspended which has p*ssed me off as I have a pension set up so I'm pretty sure there's something not quite right here.
If anyone has an idea of what I should do then please get in touch!
Thanks!
The tax year starts at the beginning of April, depending on how much holiday you've taken between 5th April and your last day, you may have taken more than you accrued, in which case, the excess will be deducted off your pay.
The bonus is a separate matter, but should be clearly defined, usually a % of your earnings in a given time frame and usually stipulates if it includes premium payments or overtime.
For bonus you had to have still been employed by Tesco on the day it was paid.
This is making interesting reading as I left/retired end of March, but had a one off payment today on my old employee number. I've got a different number for my pension, so when I access payslips I can see where it's coming from. 🤷♀️

Amex, I am also a retired colleague. I too was issued a different number to access my payslips.
Are you able to view your payslips online?
I could only view my first two payslips then.... nothing. Its been over a year now. Am being told they only provide annual P60 now and if I want to see what I'm being paid to check with my bank? Or, alternatively, I can write to HO and request copies if I specify what dates I want!
JFDI, yes I access payslips online. But you only get a pension payslip when there is a change in your pension payment, or at the beginning of the tax year. I've only had 2 payslips so far. But I can still access payslips from my employment till March when I finished. That's where the bonus came from, which I was later told was because I was still considered with Tesco as I had retired but hadn't left the company. My first payslip had a code to access online payslips. You might need to contact your pension provider, either Standard Life or Legal and General depending on which pension you're receiving. Or try the Tesco pension website or helpline.

You can view all your work/pension payslips online with the HMRC personal tax account if your pension provider don't give them to you. They have to tell HMRC for taxes.
Thanks for the steer.
I actually still work for the big T so yes, I have an employee number and can view my payslips online.
I was a member of the old defined benefit scheme and hit NRA over a year ago. I was issued another number and was advised I could view my monthly payments also through "payslipview.com".
The first two months were fine. Then nothing apart from as you say my P60. I was just curious to understand if you were still able to see your Tesco pension payslips.
I just find it annoying that I cannot see my monthly income. Of course I can look at my bank statement but that dosen't show me what tax code they are using, how much N.I. I'm paying etc. Of course I can find this out via HMRC, but really? :-X
If you're still working for Tesco, you have a legal right to a payslip, if you've retired snd aren't working for Tesco, then it's a different set of rules to see your itemised pension payments.
I don't think I got it either even though I worked those days
Tesco to pay out nearly £50 million to staff members as 'thank you bonuses' (https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/tesco-pay-out-nearly-50-26705266)
QuoteTesco has announced that they are set to award thousands of staff members with 'thank you bonuses' next month that will be worth nearly £50 million.
The British supermarket chain will pay up to 290,000 staff members across all departments as a way to say thank you for all their hard work over the past year.
Staff members across their stores, customer fulfilment and customer engagement centres will be provided with a bonus worth 1.25 per cent of their salary at the end of May.
What is the qualifying date? For this bonus?
Permanent colleagues will receive the 1.25% Thank You payment based on hours worked between 4 April 2021 to 2 April 2022 and will receive this as part of their 27 May pay. Colleagues will need to have joined Tesco by 1 December 2021 to be eligible and still be employed on the payment date to receive. For more details, please see the thank you payment FAQs on Colleague Help.
They didn't have a choice really, it's no coincidence this was announced shortly after the pay review, especially as their official policy is that non-managerial colleagues get no bonus and that other competitors still give out bonuses.
Why have distribution got a higher bonus than store staff? Is it to do with the steering wheel or whatever it's called?
re Distribution Bonus>
It's entirely to do with the fact that they get an annual bonus and they recently threatened strike action which led to a deal which protected said bonus.
(well from what I've read).
GAs in stores are on completely different t&cs (worse) than distribution staff - we have very little in common - we are not able to threaten strike action - we cannot refuse the pay rise that Tesco offer us and ask for more -

Oh well I wont get my £250 then. Thx for info.
Its because distribution centres have to think faster than us regular store plebs, they have to rethink gravitational laws when stacking yoghurts on their side,or more ingenious ways to destroy cream cakes than the old cases of butter, juice or cheese,i couldnt thinnk that fast
LOL @ sherwood. They are a special kind of special at the depot
I think you will find that several years ago the stores give up their annual bonus as part of one of your pay deals as where the Depots have never done this
The stores have received a bonus this year and last year at the discretion of the business
Depots have never given the bonus away to get a better pay offer so if you are looking for someone to blame for your low bonus this year compared with what the DC staff are getting then go and find the nearest mirror and get a good look and that will give you an idea of who to blame :P
Yes, because of cause CA's can negotiate their own wage increases 8-) 8-) 8-)
USDAW "negotiates" on their behalf, and by negotiate I mean Tesco saying what they'll get and if they don't like it Tesco will stop propping up the low membership figures.
I'm not sure if all depots are the same, I'm under the impression some actually have a voice and can vote on issues like bonuses, can't remember getting a vote about losing annual bonus, free shares or Covid attendance bonus, plus stores don't threaten to go on strike, look in your own mirror and see if your crying about being better paid than store staff.

Store staff do not negotiate, unlike depo as said, we dont have a voice, think of it like politics, we've got a government who doesn't like us (like current UK situation) and you the depots are the government, that is in it for themselves too, what depo government asks, they shall receive.
And do not forget to mention , managers bonus is 4.5%.
I'm sorry, but every depot has fought long & hard for what they have, they have stood up for themselves against the company, as said they are not to blame for the shops situation regards T&C's & wages.. In my opinion Shops need to fight to take back their right to negotiate & vote on any outcome, like the DC workers...

Would gladly remove any bonus for even 4% every year.
The Big wigs want this infighting to happen to distract while they look at more ways to worse staff pay and benefits.
Quote from: lordadmiral on 17-04-22, 02:53PM

This usually means that their pay rise is going to be low. When you look at what the shift leaders rate is this, it is close to a newly appointed managers first rate of pay there is no incentive. So where the 4.5% bonus may be great, take tax off and prob for most people the pay rise will be between 0.5-1.5%. It's just ok. I'd rather a 5% wage increase than the bonus.
Thats correct. You lose half in tax and NI. So its really only 2.25%. Still better than nothing. Store managers can achieve about 10 times that in bonuses if they hit all targets.
National insurance is 13.2% and Basic rate tax is 20%, so unless you're earning more than £50k it's not "losing half"
Well worked out.
I have worked for Tescos for almost 13 years and at the end of this month will be taking redundancy as they are getting rid of the night shift team, does anyone know if we will be entitled to the bonus as its not our fault nights are going. The managers we have asked dont seem to know the answer.
In the past the staff got the bonus when they were made redundant. Fingers crossed for you.
In my opinion you should be entitled to the bonus, but if you read the fine print about those who are entitled to the bonus it says that you still have to be employed by Tesco at the end of the month of May when the bonus is paid. So in theory you will not get it. >:D >:D >:D

You should be classed a "good leaver" (redundancy) therefore you will be entitled to the bonus.
. If I was absent or left Tesco during the year, am I still eligible? If you're on maternity, adoption, additional paternity leave or shared parental leave, you remain eligible to receive this
Thank You payment. This Thank You payment will be paid pro-rata based on eligible earnings during the financial year for
"good leavers" - retirement (with company approval), ill-health retirement, redundancy and death in service. These
payments will be made in cash only and will be processed via payroll using the bank account details that you last received
your pay in.
However, if you leave Tesco for any other reason before 27 May 2022 or take a lifestyle break (provided you weren't reemployed by 1 December 2021), you won't receive this Thank You payment.

I wouldn't hold too much against the rep...chances are they haven't been updated by the area organisers, as they are clueless at the best of times!
Print out or take a screen shot of the section provided above by barafear 8-) and give to your rep for future reference.
There would be an outcry from those being made redundant, as to penalise those losing their jobs through redundancy by Tesco, to then deny the bonus would mean they were suffering a detriment, through no fault of their own :-X

lets not forget that a lot of distribution staff get a bonus just for turning up! im all for them getting better standard rate of pay as I have done the job and its incomparable to working inshore. however. bonuses, premiums etc should be at the same rate etc. its a disgrace really.
