HOPE THIS HELPS ALL THOSE WHO JOINED TESCO BEFORE 1995
"ilis Addendum provides you with additional information about your terms and conditions of employment. The Addendum and main statement are regarded as one document.

ANNUAL HOLIDAYS The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March

Holiday entitlement increases with service and the tables attached will enable you to precisely calculate your entitlement.
Only complete months and years count towards completed service.

Less than 12 months 12 months or more but less than 5 years 5 years or more but less than 10 years 10 years or more but less than 15 years 15 years or more

Table A Table B Table C Table D Table E

In all the tables the holiday entitlements broken down into months. In Table A this is necessary to calculate your holidays, in your first year of employment. The months are only required in the later tables to enable you to accurately calculate your entitlement should you leave the Company.

You will only be paid For holidays you are entitled to according to the tables. Holiday pay is based on your appropriate weekly earnings which is either your current contractual weekly earnings or the average of your previous years weekly earnings with the Company, which ever is greater.
From April 1996, holiday pay will be based on your current contractual weekly earnings. A days holiday pay is calculated by dividing the appropriate weekly earnings figure by the number of days in a week.
There are two types of holiday pay scheme in operations.

CURRENT YEAR HOLIDAY PAY SCHEME If you were employed. after 31 March 1991* you are on the current year holiday pay scheme. Your entitlement is calculated on the number of days you work each week and how much service you could achieve in the current holiday year, starting from 1 April and ending on 31 March.

If you were employed on or after 3rd July 1995, during your first year of employment you have to accrue holiday entitlement before you can take paid holiday, e.g. if you work 5 days a week and have 2 months service but less than 3 months, you are entitled to 3 days paid holiday (please refer to table A).

If you decide to leave the Company, or we decide to end your employment on the current year holiday pay scheme, we will look at how many months you have worked in the current year to establish your exact entitlement at your date of leaving. If you have taken less holiday than you are entitled to, you will be paid for the amount of days not yet taken. If you have taken more holiday than you are entitled to, you will owe the Company an amount of money equal to these extra days and this will be deducted for your final pay.

EXAMPLE CURRENT SCHEME ~ Assuming that you are entitled to 22 days holiday at the beginning of the year and you leave on 30 September, your holiday pay will be calculated from Table B.

As you are leaving 6 months after 1 April, you will be entitled to 11 days holiday pay. If you have already taken holiday this year, this will be deducted, e.g. if you have taken 5 days holiday, then you will only receive 6 days holiday pay.

If you have had 15 days paid holiday but you are only entitled to 11 days holiday, you will owe the Company an amount of money equal to these extra days and this will be ,deducted from your final pay, i.e. in this instance you will have taken 4 more days than you were entitled to, so 4 days money will be deducted from your final pay.

ACCRUED HOLIDAY PAY SCHEME If you were employed before 31 March 1991 you are on the accrued holiday pay scheme. Your entitlement is calculated on the number of days you work each week and how much service you completed by 31 March in the previous year.

If you decide to leave the Company, or we decided to end your employment then on the accrued holiday pay scheme you will be paid for, the balance of any holiday entitlement not taken plus any entitlement accrued from 1 April up to your leaving date.

. EXAMPLE ACCRUED SCHEME Assuming you are entitled to 25 days holiday (see Table C), you leave on 30 September and you have already taken 15 days holiday, then your holiday would be calculated as follows:

1.

The balance of your holiday entitlement not yet taken in the current leave year will be 25 (full year entitlement) minus 15 (holidays days already taken) which equals 10 days' outstanding holiday pay.
As you have completed 6 months' service in this holiday year, you have accrued holiday entitlement of 12 days for next year.
Your final holiday pay would therefore be 22 days, i.e. 10 days outstanding for this year and 12 days accrued.
Those employees employed from 1 April 1991 to 31 March 1992 are on the current year holiday pay scheme, but their service during that year counts ,as accrued. This accrued amount has been "frozen" and will be paid on leaving.

2.

3.

*
If you are summarily dismissed for gross misconduct, you will not receive any holiday pay. If you fail to give, or work, the proper notice that we require from you, then an amount equivalent to the notice not given or worked will be deducted from your holiday pay.

CUSTOMARY HOLIDAYS You will be entitled to the following customary holidays with pay, provided that no unauthorised absence takes
