LBTS Routes

LBTS Routes are all considered and agreed by individual depots and the Transport for London (TfL) enforcement officers.
Basically the criteria is that a company submits a route based on the minimal use of restricted roads to the TfL and they decide if the submitted route is feasible within their rules.
So from an unrestricted road you virtually have to measure the distance from that road to your destination, normally a store in Tesco's case, ensure that the route can take a full sized articulated lorry, that no other prohibitions apply to the route, write out exact directions and submit all of that to the TfL for their Yea or Nay.
One would expect that all vehicles arriving in London from the same direction would follow the same route, not so, the TfL have the power to veto and change your route if they consider too many vehicles travelling the same obvious route would create congestion or bottlenecks.
Harrow 1 is one such store that NDC and Dicot have different routes to.
Any change to routes has to be notified to the TfL and agreed before this happens or the original agreed route can still be used.
