I may have missed it but what about such shifts meaning you are legally only allowed to work one day then one or more days off before you can work again?

no that leaves 12 hours between shifts, which is legal.

Not sure that's correct, plenty of businesses run 12/12.

My apologies.  I got my mental arithmetic wrong and was applying the current rule of thumb that if you work an evening then you can only work the morning or afternoon of the next day not both (based on existng shift times).  Finishing at 9pm makes all the difference.

They are not counting lunch. so its 11 hours of pay in a 12 hour clocked in/out shift. Runs the whole thing very tight though.

And if someone breaks down towards the end of their shift in the middle of nowhere then that throws a spanner in the works.

cant drive the next day. if recovery is needed youre not driving just working a longer shift.

8-20 and 9-21 in our store.
Dont know about the others.
thats from a usual  8-18     and 18-22 a different driver
and a               9-19     and 19-23 a different driver

Usually its full timers on the day shift and students on the evening

so do drivers now finish at 9pm instead of 10pm?,have they scrapped late delivery slots?

the trial is the latest finish is 2100 

8-1330 lunch 1430-2000
9-1430 lunch 1530-2100

One question I wanted to ask, at our store its 17 drops, lunch, 17 drops, load evening (usually 12-15), finish, so a van total of about 45-49 for the day

Is the trial just 2 runs of 17?  The way it was described in our store was 3 runs of max 15, with 2x 60 mins breaks for a max of 45 drops a day

technically shouldnt get 17 drops as only max 15 freezer spaces? obviously not everyone gets freezer stuff but in summer most will.

We are about same number of drops whichever system is used new or trial but trial uses less driver hours and a trip less.

Ours has been 17 per run for years, very rare to get less than 15, freezer space is always at the max so sometimes have to double up in the trays

Night van going out with 19 freezer tonight.  4 freezer trays for one house. Don't know how he managed to get them on the van

4 freezers for one house? usually thats a very unhealthy household 

of our 10 vans on the trials most drivers are not happy with the longer days. the ones with kids hate it as they never see them.
And on their days off they are too tired to do anything.
