Working in 2 different supermarkets
« on: 18-03-20, 08:08PM »
Hi there, quick question. With redundancy looming would it be allowed if I were to take on a second job within a different supermarket on a Flexi contract in order to secure employment when/if redundancy is actioned?

You can't work in 2 supermarkets due to Conflict of interest.

They are working on this but it's like being contracted to two Depts. The ideal is that you should do 75% of your hours in your main dept but as far as restructure is concerned it's the main contracted dept that is looked at. It's only a way to hedge your bets regarding additional skills that earn points.

If another company offer you a job that fits in with your current hours, take it...you can work anywhere else you want, but keep it quiet as some managers think you can't, and if you want to stay in Tesco on your current contract, or don't want to take redundancy, they may try to use it to their advantage! Your advantage, if you want redundancy is that you have a second job, don't have to tell them how long you've had it  ;)

Number one priority is looking after yourself and your future, loyalty to Tosco is incredibly misplaced.
