Total Reward Statement
« on: 15-11-19, 03:03PM »
Can anybody explain how the colleague club card total discount is arrived at? Mine shows that I spend £600 a year at Tesco whereas I know that I spend £2,500 a year minimum. Strangely/ suspiciously the figure is exactly the same as last years.

Maybe it's because of the problems they had tracking the spend. They stopped  putting the information on the payslips part way through the year because of it, so maybe they've used last year's figures.

I haven't kept my previous statements but I do remember the forecast for my yearly pension.  I'm disappointed to find this year's figure is exactly the same, despite me increasing my contributions twice in that period.  I also didn't have a lump sum amount this year.  I won't be buying their annuity

I thought it was 10% discount up to £10000 ie £1000 discount.

That's not the actual amount you spend, depending on your yearly salary, Tesco sends that figure to everyone in that salary group to make their total salary statement including reward benefits better than what it actually is.

I remember my actual take home salary was 22.5k in 2017 as a part time shift leader (due to bonuses and the external payroll review) and the rewards statements letter valued my package at 26k for that year. It's about as authentic as their 10.5% pay rises every 2 years.

Think the yearly pension amount is for the old closed Pension Scheme
