Across all stores or just smaller stores? Why was this not sorted in the Stock Control reshuffle. We all had to fill out more availability forms. Place is a joke. Think all our potentiallers would go if thats the case, none could move to mornings.

Metro stores only moving to morning job 14 to bring them in line with express. No changes to job 14 for large formats.

What does this mean

Pooling Principles
50% approach – if a colleague works 50% or more of their hours on an impacted department, they
will be included in the pool regardless of their contracted department.
If a colleague is not included in the pool as they work less than 50% of their hours on the impacted
department, the following options would apply:
o
If their hours are reducing by 20% or less, pay protection will apply and therefore the
colleague will not be financially impacted for 2 years. They can apply for any vacancies to
make up the shortfall.
o If their hours are reducing by more than 20%, with pay protection applied the colleague
will still be financially impacted. Therefore, colleagues can choose to take redundancy. If
they don’t wish to take redundancy, they can accept the reduced hours with pay
protection, and apply for any vacancies to make up the shortfall. This will need to be discussed as part of formal consultation.

Job 14, otherwise known by very few as potential reductions.

Old process of job 14 would take place in the afternoon, you'd scan stuff with tomorrows date and then the app would use rate of sale and quantity left to calculate a percentage reduction, the sweetspot of getting the most money while being able to sell it all before reductions the day after.

New process is the job 14 takes place at 7am-10am and you'll be scanning things with todays date, anything scanned during job 14 will appear in the reductions list.

We had been trialling that in the mornings in our store for a while so it must be getting roled out to everyone else now.

On the back of other comments is this going to be rolled out to only the Metro stores now then as part of the restructure to that format?

This has been part of Express routines since  the beginning of this year or just a bit before, it seems to be that Metro is following Express stores structure with a few nuances due to staff count.

Services manager went in most stores when personel managers went early last year , I thought . It still seems to be different structures for different stores depending on size atm .

Services managers didn’t go when the people/compliance managers went, CSM’s (senior front-end managers)went at that time.
Now some stores have lost services managers due to soft structure changes for years.
Will depend on turnover/headcount for that area.
I know of at least one checkout manager that has checkouts, cash office, CSD, trollies, security and community with no extra team support, they would probably have PFS too if there store had one!

@morris999 , I knew most services managers had went on a previous restructuring,  wasn't sure which one . I dont envy that checkout manager . Unfortunately that's the way things are going , half hour online training and heyho  , you can manage that department.  Not good for staff or managers.

There has been talk for ages about removal of service manager without a PFS. One store has a service manager who has been on soft structure change for years and that store is without PFS.

Question
On the above second collective consultation, right at the end of page 2 it says shift leaders work any five out of seven days. Has this always been the case for shift leaders or is it new to this structure change?
They have said that managers would go this way at some point. Only cover Sunday's by overtime, very few managers contracted to Sunday's and it's mostly covered by overtime but as it can be a very busy day it is long overdue being looked at. In Scotland we have extra stores open 24/7 and superstores open much longer than the Englush laws allow. My store trades 0800-2200 on a Sunday for example and our local extra only closes Christmas Day.

You can't just be sacked...you should know that being a manager. Unless you've been sat down and spoken to, it's all hearsay.
