we only have 8 tablets in store for the new managing by hours and 17 of us managers,if we are supposed to have one each per job role it doesn't look good :(
17 managers probably on average 2 on holiday 3 on days off leaves 12 split between 18 hours at least of shifts averaging that out 6 on per shift. So you have spares.

You don't get one per job role. Checkouts gets one, so does wages and store manager. Think dot.com gets one too but rest of managers have to share but you are not on them all the time. It's the same as a MPC, there is not one each of them either. There is a lot to do on tablets but it is not a full time job.

Just more speculation. Facts are what we need, not people having feelings of what's gonna happen.

The job freeze must be for certain stores because we have just hired two new managers.

This place is for speculating if you want hard facts wait for an announcement or go work for the Tesco board of Directors.

Theres probably a majority of people on here that dont agree. All speculation & guessing does is make more & more people fear for their jobs with no real evidence to back the guessing up.

"what do you think will happen" is built into the English language, and is used every day by thousands of people in many, if not all, walks of life.

Providing M360 is still in the know, they would be able to shed a lot of light on the current situation

We have also been told this in our store. Potential soft changes which usually means structure change and job losses through less hours or removal of roles. Depends on your store format.

Depending on your store structure I think potentially managers.

Given the ongoing structure changes and simplification of stores, to save costs, there are further efficiencies to be made in stores, especially large stores.  The level of management cover is too high for 1) the amount of staff and 2) the lack of routines so naturally another round of restructure is inevitable!  The manager wages cost each week is huge, it needs reduced to allow further savings for DL big plan, which is almost at an end.

You would confidently say that food stock managers, fresh managers, front end managers and senior team managers all being reviewed and this upcoming announcement may affect them, however it may not!

As mentioned on here many times before it’s all speculation and although one could point out where savings could be made, it does not necessarily mean that is where the office will be looking!

Metro stores are definitely in need of restructuring.

If stock control managers receive another soft structure change, I can see a lot jumping ship...last time ambient took over wages, from redundant compliance managers, and a big wedge of work that involved, even with the admin assistant. But this time, there will be a lot of disgruntled s/c managers, as they're the ones always called on to support along with their team...add to this the laziest SM I've ever had the misfortune to meet, who is totally out of their depth, without any qualifications, any desire to help on the shopfloor, and bullies to hide their inefficiencies, then I reckon it won't be long till that tenth Costa of the morning, gets poured all over her vacuous head  :-X
