Finally have got a contract
« on: 10-01-19, 01:29PM »
woo hoo guys, finally got a contract - so now we can relax knowing hes got a job .
I know I'm a pain in the arse asking, but am I right in thinking that on your payslip up on the right- it says--
 Hours -           22.50
 Hourly Rate - £8.426

and then you look in the first column down on the left
and where it says Basic Pay,  I'm sure it is worked out as ....
  4 (weeks) x 22.50 = 90 hours
 times by £8.426 per hour = £758.34

can anyone explain why it says  £631.98  ??

 Not had any days off??

It shows your wage deductions in the middle column. So the likes of tax, national insurance, union, pensions etc.

Have a look in 'Links' box on home page of VLH for 'Payslip Explained', a PDF file download.

Have you got bank holiday days on there from Xmas, BD and New Year.

If you were contracted to those days and didn’t work, the basic pay would have been paid as BH pay instead

If you weee contracted and did work, the contracted shift would be minused off making basic pay lower, but you would have been paid BH OT instead

8.426? isn't the base pay higher than this?

No, I only get 8.131 but soon will finally get the 8.42 as I'm in the 4th month now, the base rate of £8.42 was implemented since November 2018 so its higher than it has been before November.

Before November 2018 it was 8.18 so the base rate seems correct to me if working after 3 months. or higher then average if working less then 3 months.

established rate must be different for different stores as my hoursly is just shy of £9

Depending on your job role it could be as 80377494 said and you are on a different pay grade however it could be a case of you being in an area where you receive location pay e.g. London or the South East.
