The NEC meeting is for all SM and SDs. Likely to go thru how to implement structure changes instore.

It’s the yearly meeting where the likes of Dave Lewis make presentations on what Tesco have planned for the next 12 months but it’s all high level stuff, all store managers from all formats are expected to attend or send someone in there place if unavailable, all area managers store directors etc etc also attend. New structure won’t be part of it as express is not affected by the changes and also they like it to be a happy and positive event, no bad news is allowed.

Opt out
Saw that on other thread no one has mentioned anything in our store. It says week for 4 for briefing of changes . Sc and counters are the only ones told they are effected by any changes would we have heard by now . Any one out there on non food desks heard anything yet.we have all filled in availability forms but told this is for store scheduler.

I felt this link/info was even more highly relevant to this thread as it seems to give the whole (current) restructure plan (including F&F, counters, security, non-food CSD etc) if read from page one.

I work in a critical risk store and we have just had our guarding hours cut drastically. They’ve hit GSSM’s and guards. What about STM’s? Get right d of some time fbthem and put hours back into making our stores safer 😡🤬🤯

Don’t worry everyone our store manager says if you go up and have a nice chat with potential shoplifters, our great service will be the best possible way to prevent them carrying out a theft, as nobody will want to steal from people who and friendly and chatty, those are his words by the way not mine, this company just gets more of a comedy show every day.

What does everyone think down to one stock manager? Or keep 2?

Same here Wizard. 1 manager covers stock control, wagers and Pi in my store now. And we used to have 2 stock control managers and a compliance manager. So I can see all other stores doing this aswell

On the operational side, given the huge reduction in stock Control routines plus SR&D changes you would have to think that there is only going to be 1 manager. A few have said that this is already the case and looking ahead I Scan not see why they would keep two managers for this reduced role.

Job 14 is next to be cut, with the trials running at present this will move to AM Routine and I guess the fresh dept manager would take over the role, which then leaves what for the Food Stock Manager to do??

It will 100% move to an AM routine. My opinion still hasn’t changed from weeks ago that the 3 stock control departments will finish completely when the supposed ‘criteria’ for matching hrs etc for the heat map comes out. Every1 will be under one stock control” group which does everything.  Possibly 1 person on 5am to 2pm and another starting 7am to 4pm. All routines completed by early afternoon and then out the door. Some1 else will do potentials in evening. The slightly later start of the other person will be used for fresh when their deliveries hit the system at 10am. It cud be shorter hrs and more people used, I really don’t know but like I said this is my opinion from a wile back when this all kicked off and it hasn’t changed since. ****my opinion only****

The heat map is out this week nothing will be announced unless u have a decent manager who will tell their team what it shows. It will be another few weeks wait until consultations start. It will basically say how many people are needed at watever times etc. If criteria is used then people cud probably work out who is better off than others if people have live warnings in place, poor sickness etc etc.

The heat maps are the guiding light on this so until we get sight on them then it’s anyones guess!
I’m hoping we know more info for our dept this week, then the official consultations and meetings can get going, which will help teams with the uncertainty that has been hanging about recently!
I’m hopeful...

We've been told consultations will only be done by store manager with admin as note taker. When I lost my team leader role, I had the option of taking someone of my choosing in with me.

Line managers and lead managers are not allowed to see the heat map so they will all be in the dark this week too.

The store manager will be holding the consultation meetings, there will be, ideally, 2 line managers completing the 1:1’s, both of which should not be your manager; which will take away any favouritism ect ect
