It's the brown paper re invented for the 2020's...and we know how long the brown paper initiatives lasted   :D

They call it brown paper to represent the colour of the matter of the brains of the people that come up with "process changes in the name of operational efficiency" , in other words s*** for brains.

If this scheduler is the " oricle" and is the next best thing since slice bread..working out  how many hrs a store needs and how many staff.. how come it hasnt worked out that you dont need 8 managers in a small superstore that only takes  350k/400k a week!!! Ludicrous...

It's Oracle, they're one of the largest companies in the world, the people that work for them are generally smarter than most people.

Unless it was named after the Oric, one of the dumbest of the early personal computers!  :)

Whole Store Scheduler is not Oracle.

Work and Pay is due to start its roll out from October(ish).

Oracle is still quite far off.

Oracle is a load of b###ox. It can not accurately predict/ estimate how long tasks should take as there are far too many variables to consider. It’s a waste of money and the only thing it guarantees to do is reduce morale further (is that even possible?). I know the more the managers at my store try to spin oracle and schedular sh#te in a positive way, I and most other colleagues disrespect them even further.

Work and Pay is a step up from Whole Store Scheduler and a step closer to Oracle. Won't know much more until closer to the launch.

Work and Pay

This is where Tosco monitor you on trackers / cameras and Till activity - you work you get paid , you have idle time / conversations / go to the toilet / take a break / go browsing other areas of the store the cameras / trackers monitor you and don't pay you for that time . Cashiers will only be paid if doing a transaction - idle time will not be paid .
Big T  will be watching / tracking your productivity - i'm only joking  :D :D :D :D :D :D .
But i bet they have considered it .

Oracle did not work for Tesco.
Work and Pay is a version that does work and will replace Oracle.

Has anyone else started decking parts of grocery instead of working from cages (at night)?  We are being told that aisles are to be decked for us and that we are to team fill them.  We are then to work backstock on aisles individually.  Apparently this is the new way forward and what is going to happen from now on.......

This is only happening on part of grocery (not the whole thing)  which makes no sense?

How can anyone tell how much someone is doing if we are team filling?

Yep. Tesco GA badges now should just say 'Easily Replaceable General Dogs Body'. That would be more accurate in many cases.

Obviously again thought up by someone who has never worked shop floor. Team fills are notoriously slower than individual aisle fill.

No ownership of aisle, no individual pace setting, stopping to chat, petty bickering on who's not pulling their weight, and people wandering off to god knows where.

lucgeo spot on

It is often the ones complaining about folks not pulling their weight who can be found talking.

Maybe some work would get finished if people stopped giving a toss about what the next mans doing and running off to the manager.

Ohh I forgot they are the voice of the team.

Is there a policy regarding how often someone can change their availability window?

My friend who is a customer assistant is on a flexi contract for 2 days so do they need to give availability for up to full time? Once they set Saturday as available could they just change it so it’s Monday to Friday?
