Wow some managers actually know the new sickness policy, because at my old place they couldn't get it even after having a 6 hour meeting about it, must be nice.

What happens if the return to work meeting isn't done until a day late?

Need advice.

I am Tesco DC worker from April 2015. From this time I had some absences. 4 days on 9/06/2016, one day on 16/10/2017. Day after coming back I had ARM and they put me on stage one monitoring period to improve my attendance. This should expire on 21/4/2017. Unfortunately I had another absences; 2 days on 18/12/2016 and 2 days on 13/02/2017. Had another ARM. This time I've been put on stage Two because didn't improve my attendance.  Stage one monitoring process mention ,,if the situation does not improve, for example, further absence occurs; its likely that you will be MOVED to the next stage of procedure it means stage TWO,,.
OK. Stage  Two expired on 13/08/2017. I had 6 days of absence after these date.
Waiting for ARM. Shifty told me I can be possibly put on Stage 3, because I had two monitoring process within two years. I said to him had one monitoring process, not two because stage one been moved to next stage of procedure and my monitoring period was longer than 26 weeks. From 17/10/2016 to 13/08/2017. Stage one and two together.

I am on good thinking way. ???

Why were you put on a stage 1?
I am assuming the second occasion of 1 day is wrong as that date is in the future I'm assuming it should be 16/10/2016 and not 16/10/2017.

I ask why at that point were you escalated to stage 1 as 2 occasions is under the 3 occasion trigger, also for a full time worker 4 days across 2 occasions is likely to be less that 3% absence. So why escalated at that time? Were you offered representation?
My Opinion is exactly that, Mine.  Based on my view of what I know , see and what I would do.

Ah yeah my bad newer 5 from 7 contracts would give 3.9% for four days over 26 weeks.
Unfortunately it is not 1 monitoring process it does seem like 2, as you were at 2 levels with 2 different monitoring periods as being in one period at level 1, then when escalated to another level a new period of monitoring starts. After which you had further absence.
Unless something mitigates the abscences or some of it.. looks difficult to counter argue.

Can anyone give me the formula for working out the absence percentage. I can't find it in the sickness policy. A full time worker 36.5 hours a week has 3 days sick totalling 22.5 hours what would the percentage be?
Thanks for any help

If you provide a Doctors Line for absence it shouldn't matter the percentage?

Why do my store still end up Disciplining people?

It all seems a waste of time.

22.5 (absence) divided by 949 (26 weeks @ 36.5) multiplied by 100 = 2.37%

We will all be able to work out our extra holiday entitlement now with a doctors line thrown in from a GP friend as a red herring for the management at the big T.  :)

Since when? I was always under the impression a fit for work note made no difference?

With regard to dr's notes ask yourself this.....would it be considered reasonable by a court/tribunal for you to be dismissed for having several periods of absence when you were signed off by a GP if your previous attendance history was excellent and if you are likely to fully recover from your current illness....

Talking about Medical Experts  ??? Some years back I had been off sick for just over 5 months, all of which was spent in Hospital, 2 ops later I came home and a few weeks later they, Tesco, came to see me, talked to me about my % and when I was likely to come back home (they had a letter from my specialist to say I was due 3 more ops over the next 6 months ) They said they wanted Tesco doctors to look me over for a second opinion  8-) , ,, My son looked at me rolled his eyes up, I smiled and said go ahead, I did not tell them that My specialist team had the worlds Number 1, 2 and 3 in the team.  So who the f*** did they think they could get to look me over and over rule the specialist, I never heard a word from them again   :D
