I'm already on a flexi contract. The "new" vacancies are terrible and totally unsuitable. Wouldn't be entitled to working tax credit if I took contract less than 16hrs & not guaranteed to be flexed up every week. I have given my all to this company over the last 4 years and I, along with everyone else on nights, have been hung out to dry. Really hoping that I will get 1 of the many jobs (not Tosco) that I have applied for recently. Can't believe that we can be treated like this. Tosco are going to lose probably their most loyal & hardest workers through this. Can't help but feel if we had a better union things might have been different  :(

If your store closes at 12, you will eventually lose your night team....just a matter of time...😦😦

Barney10 dont know people are saying wc27 feb other April and some were guessing dates passed like 6 and 8th feb. It is meant to be going to be a slow roll out now so who knows. Why do you say this month anyway?

Surely it would make sense to offer the redundancies before the next bonus is paid out to save money?   Or are you still entitled to it even if made redundant just before it is given?

Yes if made redundant you are still paid it as a cash payment.

I thought that if you were not one of the 76 stores losing there night teams you were safe for one year,  at least until next April????

You can't predict the future and there's nothing stopping the company speeding up or slowing down it's future plans. With economic growth slowing to maintain profits Tesco may well need to bring forward future cuts.

True, we were never given anything in writing, so like you say they can change their plans at any time.

I would hang on in there if you want redundancy and anyone told they are safe for 12 months take that with a pinch of salt. Stress Co are as transparent as mud

There will be no nightshift in any stores especially when the living wage hits ten pound, our store which is a extra haven't replaced any staff on nights who have left or retired or been sacked, there are more flexi staff than full time. We hear all sorts of rumours all the time and they tend to be right half the time wrong the other half. One thing I'm certain of is nightshift everywhere is on borrowed time, makes sense for the company to move to twilights and save a shitload of money and get full time contracts finished.

Dayshift check the loading bay and you will see part of what you will get when nights go.

Best of luck today.   ;D

PS Remember your high level and your back stock   :)
