Hats off and well done to all concerned  :d:, many years ago, one of my friends was a carer in a residential home for people with Alzheimer's /dementia, i used to visit a lady with this illness ( one of my late mothers friends ) and one elderly chap who was a character at times, and the same fellow whom my carer friend had to remind him each day that she was his daughter.  :)

I owe my success to having listened respectfully to the very best advice, and then going away and doing the exact opposite.

Thing is with it been for Alzheimer's Tesco will not add the extra money as they are no longer Charity of the year. I found this out the other week. I arranged to take part in a Triathlon in April for Alzheimer's as they were Charity of the Year and my family had been touched by it. I spoke to Alzheimer's Society recently and got told that Tesco would not add the extra 20% now as the charity had changed. Just been passed from pillar to post by HO but basically it is a no. :(

In hard times for many I think the following is good news:

http://www.oxfordtimes.co.uk/news/yourtown/oxford/9702449.Food_bank_is_making_a_meal_of_store_deal/

However  :D

Tesco, in Cowley, will hand over unused food to the food bank every day.

They give us what they can’t use on the day and will be thrown away

Would unused be food that has not been in someones mouth, as opposed to that which has been previously chewed and discarded or rejected  :D  ;D
