Sickness
« on: 06-05-19, 04:09PM »
Hi, I'm due to have an AR tomorrow.  Two weeks ago I was off for 1 night due to a severe migraine.  I was off in Jan with the flu for which I received a verbal warning.  What are the chances of me getting a written warning this time?

The migraine was basically brought on by stress.  I've got a LOT of bad stuff going on at home, I know it's not an excuse but could they take it into consideration?!

My AR meetings are always quick just say if they ask questions it'll cause you further stress.

Most of us are having a let's talk. Mine was that I talk too much. Even though I always get my jobs done.,even help others when I've done. Sick of getting spoken to like I did when I was in primary school.

Tesco are in no position to discipline staff now they're the 2nd lowest paying supermarket (Only Icelands pays less, Coop has just overtook Tesco recently).

Just throw the Tesco speak back at them....can't waste time discussing this in the office as it's just "idle time" so "talk and walk" as I need to help get the job finished and " boxed off" with the "one team, the Tesco team"

I now think I'm being punished, taken off my usual aisle and given stuff that I struggle with, I've even told them I can't get it all done.  The managers mate is in on O.T. so he's got my usual aisle.  In the let's talk both myself and a colleague were told "it's a privilege to work on fresh,so you need to buck up your ideas".

This is silly.....why aren't you taking in a union rep or colleague to take notes. Flip the situation, you can ask the manager for a lets talk, inform them you will be having rep/colleague present.
Arrange a meeting on a timescale, so that the manager has to agree to a suitable time and date. Have your questions ready....if you're on a support plan or have agreements for which aisles you can work...remind him/her of the agreements and note down the response..state that you feel you are being treated unfairly (being moved to a difficult for you to work aisle, to accommodate someone on overtime). Ask why you are being constantly berated, as you are beginning to feel you are being singled out for unfair criticism, bordering on bullying and harrassment, managers hate being accused of bullying...it's a word they really don't want in their files if their is a grievance placed.
