A manager in my store reduces expensive bottles of wine and champagne to less than what we get an hour.  Buys them and takes them home . Weekly occurance . Any other business would sack you for fraud  :)

Ask the one who usually reduces or wastes the alcohol....I know there is a legal bar, where they can't be reduced below a certain %. If it's the one who usually does it that is suspect, ask one of the other back door people etc...

Phone the protector line anonymously, but if it's a regular occurance,  make a note of the time and the checkout used....it's so easy to pull up the transaction, along with the clubcard used, if they're that greedy and brazen then they'll have used their discount card...they'll stitch themselves up, plus the store manager won't like it as they have missed out  ;)

Alcohol can be reduced but still needs to be the minimum price. To work that out it’s ( in Scotland ) 50p x % x volume  so eg vodka  50p x 37.5%x 0.70 ( 70cl bottle ) so cheapest you could reduce that bottle to would be 13.12 same maths work for all alcohol.

And if your store hasn't got The Hub, that'd be a shame, as they'd be caught in the act in crystal clear Hi Def too!

To stay under the radar you put the odd inexpensive one through. It happens so much I would ban staff from buying reductions to make it a bit more difficult. It is always the same ones going at finishing time with £10 worth for £1.

Definitely time for a call to the Protector Line. If you can provide till number and times I'd say Manager may soon need to find alternative employment

Surely... even if the reduction routine is being carried out by the manager in question that doesn’t give them the right to take everything they reduce... shouldn’t it be made available to all.... grounds for grievance which would lead to investigation... surely...???

What's the hub? Sometimes he will take 2 full bags around special occasions.  I'm surprised no one wonders why the clinking of bottles is so loud.  It blows my mind that you can reduce items of such high value to such low amounts and there is no flagging system to have it checked out.

The Hub? It's a new set of CCTV that'll eventually be linked to somewhere else in the country; any thing that's wrong e.g. theft, tipping wagons alone and they'll email the store manager so they can investigate and act accordingly.

We've got a sample image at work and it's very clear!

The hub is mainly concentrated on high risk areas, monitoring waste, high value lock ups etc.....if he is reducing such high % reductions, there should be a print off to state the %, which would suggest that he is in fact collecting the print offs himself.....is BWS his department, though there should be a record going to his senior manager, unless his manager is a mate or just not savvy enough to be checking

Bringing it back to the question in hand.... All info is on the stores help center. There is a calculator on the G-Drive, where you can enter all the information and it will give you the lowest price you can reduce the product. but Expressdude2016 gave the formula earlier in the post.

Do they also use Clubcard? Do they pay with a bank card? If either of these it can be traced. Harder when cash and no Clubcard but assume greed ensures they also want discount. If you report they will look at the history of all of this. I know because I have seen it and fraud team got involved.
