Post by: lucgeo on 30-04-18, 08:25AM
Hi all, can anyone who is pension/ tax savvy help out?

The query being, tax was paid on a pension buyout last year, as under the annual threshold, and doesn't pay tax, will a rebate be given automatically or will it have to be applied for ??? ???

If a rebate is due it should be repaid automatically. If you have not heard by the end of May I would contact your tax office.

Last year when I got taxed over my redundancy pay out I went on line and filled in a application, and I got a refund within a few weeks,  so you could look it up and apply for it,  But it's normal for them to refund you during the year as it goes on, another thing you say it's a Pension pay out you got taxed on ? so is that the same as normal work tax ?  ???
