Wayne Hull of City Reptiles has urged anyone who encounters a snake not to lift it.  He said: “No-one should lift any snake unless they know exactly what it is. You hear stories about animals being found in the fruit and vegetables in supermarkets, and you never know what is venomous and what's not.”  Read more: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/northern-ireland/snake-found-in-belfast-tesco-crisp-aisle-16184167.html#ixzz20bARk3Le  “It must have been three or four foot long, but after one of the customers raised the alarm an employee quickly caught it.”  “A customer found it in Tesco and Tesco contacted us to say they had found a snake and were worried about it. One of the employees brought it into us." (using the approved "Tesco handling of unidentified snakes" methods, no doubt)  :d:

QuoteThe store manager Leroy Robinson wrote to her on November 6 to apologise for the "ghastly" incident.

He said a full investigation had been carried out and it was believed a stray cat had managed to get into her shopping bags, "unsighted" by staff.

My initial thought was were the poor couple blind or at least visually challenged.

Then I read
QuoteMr Watson, 32, said: "I took three mouthfuls and then saw it. My first reaction was why have I got a soggy fishcake on my plate?

Please look at the picture in relation to the article.. Not noticed before three mouthfulls!!! particularly during the preparation of putting it on a plate!!!

QuoteIf it was a maggot or something I could almost understand it, but how a whole bird was not picked up - I have just been gobsmacked by the whole thing.

What like not picked up by you when you turned the packet out on your plate!!!

Do me a favour !!

I wonder if the couple were Which? Members?

My Opinion is exactly that, Mine.  Based on my view of what I know , see and what I would do.

I think the following quote should not be overlooked "We only had a few low lights on so we were effectively eating by candlelight.", and the photo has been taken with a flash.

Lets face it any company that can get over 25% of a horse in a small burger could get a little bird in a packet of salad  :)

"Because that photo didn't do it justice I decided to leave my shopping where it was, and take a better photo, or two... so I moved round to do that. I didn't get too close, because I didn't want to breathe in that horrible dust!"
Well done to that shopper  :d: THAT is no small amount of sh**  :o

QuoteTesco were quick to point out this was an isolated case.
Course it was, they should know they have thousands of isolated cases of one sort or another all over the UK  world  8-)

QuoteThey also found mouse droppings, dead rodents in the warehouse dairy section and food waste in the warehouse of the store, which attracts 55,000 shoppers a week.

Staff had failed to fix doors, pipes and loose ceiling tiles, letting mice enter fridges and food crates at the Bedford Street shop. Tesco made an "unreserved apology" at Westminster magistrates' court yesterday.

:p:  Well that's one store I would never set foot in.

There is absolutely no excuse for this level of infestation. A good company would have robust systems to deal with rodents. Tesco have once again show that they only ever want to do things on the cheap.
The cost of proper housekeeping and maintainance pales into insignificance against the cost of a court appearance and the loss of reputation.
Managers or directors should be sacked for allowing this sort of thing.

QuoteIt's not clear why these sea slugs stab each other, but it may be a form of mind control. By injecting chemicals directly into its partner's brain, each sea slug may be able to change the other's behaviour to its own advantage.
