Going On Sick When On Notice Period
« on: 10-11-17, 07:06AM »
As above I have finally managed to get out of Tesco after 17+ years and found a better job on more money.

My last day is meant to be tomorrow but I'm genuinely full up with the flu and have been sick.

If I ring in sick and I'm sick for the last 2days of my notice period can they dock me pay I'm on the old contract were I get paid sick from the first day I wouldn't be surprised if they try and take money off me, can they do this or will they just pay my sick pay as normal and I just finish my notice on the sick??

Cheers Zzippy

They would need to apply the appropriate Absence policy to you, so you would get paid for any absence due to being ill; anything to the contrary would be wrong.

They may try to dock your wages, but with 17+ years service, I’d hope you have gained enough mutual respect with your line manager that this would not happen!

Obviously come Pay day and there is £££ missing, then you would have strong case for unlawful deduction of wages.

Get better soon and good luck in new job!

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actual
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day, yes sir!

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actual
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, feeling this way

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It is the truth, it's actual... huh?
Where is that bluebird? Mm-hm!
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

Cheers all, love the you tube videos made me giggle feels so good to be gone after 17 years bit gutted I didn't go in and say goodbye to certain people though but still rough as a badgers crack  ;D

Onwards and upwards no one ever says they regret leaving hopefully the same apples for me.
