Title: Reward Booklet
Post by: his scots tie on 09-11-17, 10:32AM
In the recent reward booklet it gives an example of someone working part time earning £8500, yet the same person gets back £1000 in staff discount. This means they have to spend all there wages plus an extra £1500 on shopping in Tesco.

Yes but if you use double discount and spend ALL your money at tesco wheres the problem? You could always sleep in the car park

The problem is its about time drastic, hoggott and matt the pr*tt got into the real world. In the example given in the booklet if the part time workers partner worked full time at Tesco on the new rates of pay after spending £10,000 on shopping they would have less than that amount to spend on the rest of there outgoings for the year beetween them.

If you were working there part time, then you wouldn't be shopping there.

When I read it I wanted to start laughing but then I realised they were being serious, strange I thought only Farmers used BullS### but I see Tosco are buying up there excess and shovelling our way.

That example really makes me laugh even since they did that.
They should put someone who earn about 3000 a year, their hourly wages will be really really good lol.

Earn £8.500 and if without double discount, spent 10.000 in tesco, need to borrow from drastic to cover the rest, and ask more money from mt to pay the bill, life is suck lol.
Use it all when got double discount, buy consumer electronic, spent £ 5.000, the rest to pay bill and transport. Got some food from waste in the bin.....oh, wait, they lock it now in the cage lol, life is suck.

They need to be taken to task for this example it is a complete disgrace.  If its Matt the pr*tt who has put this tosh together he wants sacking.  Would be an eye opener if they gave a store managers earnings with his unjustified 45% bonus.

Utterly disgraceful Matt the t**t should hang his head in shame, be forced to apologize and then be sacked

Anyone know why they never publish managers pay?

The Hourly rate jack up should not be allowed.
Especially (as pointed out ) on the example they need to spend more than than they Earn.

The book is a real bad advert for how things really are.

The booklet is an absolute joke. They have even added the employers pension contribution into the hourly rate calculation. I think you will find all of the major supermarkets also pay a contribution into their workforce occupational pension schemes so that would mean their wages would be higher than Tesco hourly rate. Also using clubcard usage in the calculation is another joke. Talk about smoke and mirrors :( :( :(

Do you really expect Tesco to do anything other than add discount and pension into working out the "hourly rate".

They are con artists, nothing more.

2016-2017?

Outdated, did you subsequently leave the company?

Did you intend adding a PDF link or summat?

A lot of managers out there in the UK that would give their left nut to have this document to help negotiate a better Salary. Lots of internet points to you David1 if you could get this to an Admin.

I should have mentioned. It was decided the 2017/2018 pay review for managers would remain unchanged from 2016/2017.

Can you explain what you mean David1, how has it remained unchanged from previous year?! I got a pay increase last year but didn’t this year, so it’s completely different?

And here is me thinking Tosco where open, transparent and honest. How wrong could i be.
Title: Re: Reward Booklet

I genuinely don’t think they could spell transparency never mind be it. They seem to work off the ideology if you are not directly involved you don’t need to know about it even if it is directly important to the day to day running of the department you work in. All sweetness and light when they want something the exact opposite when you want something.

Pay rises (yearly review process) are very different to the salary banding document that I am referring to.

It was decided for 2017/2018 that the pay bandings wouldn't be increased, which is what I referred to in my previous post.

Am I to assume the mods do not want the file?

If they wanted it they would be biting your hand off for it. woof" woof"

Minds more focused on the Booker merger and next week's Employment tribunal in London?

It's the 'immediacy' that concerns the boots on the ground perhaps..

Higher management will get their 'shaftment' in due course. They will garner very little sympathy based on the elevation of salary that currently prevails and which sees them land on a bed of feathers despite the drop from a greater height

I quite simply would like the information in the public domain, nothing more. Managers get a hard time on this site (sometimes with good reason) but they still deserve fair and consistent pay and due to the secretative method of applying manager salaries they don't have a chance.

I would like to see the contents of this file. I am the only member of staff in my store not receiving a pay rise this year. I had a met review at the end of last year. Knowing where l sit in the salary bands would give me an idea of how many more years l may have with no pay rise.

Are you talking about the pay banding David1? If you are this is not new information, or shouldn’t be! Anyone can get it, all PM’s got an email with link to the banding and subsequent salary range.  Ask your PM for it!

He has to go through the proper channels or he might get a lets talk.

His secretary wouldn't be too happy at him if he printed something off himself.

Unfortunately she is away on holiday at the moment and has numerous meetings on her return.

Why is it that anyone finds it so hard to get  a copy ?  Has  anyone asked and been told they cant have it ? if so did they follow it up to find out why they never got to see it ? I always found that if you sent a e mail to your PM asking for something you would get it ,
