Stores seem very selective in what part of the heat-map they implement .

If you are a compliance manager or PM, I’m sure their last day is 24th March which would mean the redundancy is paid on Fri Apr 6th pay day

Has anyone heard about a PI/wages manager going onto nights and getting PI staff back on nights? I heard this in our store this week and I worked PI on nights till they removed us Xmas 2016. I'd go back to PI on nights in a heartbeat depending on the hours offered.

Heat map for nights in most stores will be 7pm-12am and 3am-9am

Probably. Who was getting the new/replacement roles was more than likely determined before any interviews even took place. That's Tesco. There have been a few stories of PM 'failing' interviews, makes you wonder why when most of them have spent the last few years coaching people through them...

It's probably the younger 'cheaper' people who are passing. From my understanding it's the same pay to have your workload quadrupled with no petrol money on far worse T&Cs, so that rules out most people

m360..... I am at the top end of the pay banding for the current PM role... I had an interview for the new people partner role which is basically a lead team interview... I know I passed the interview, but I’ve been told that I failed.... I have a feeling it’s due to my pay.
Has there been any sort of steer to lose the more expensive PMS??
Surely that is not allowed - wouldn't the correct process be that they offer the best candidates the job and then they accept or reject based on if they want to take that job and it's pay?

Did they not do something similar to store managers a couple of years ago. Was not part of change to job roles but a lot of long standing store managers were given golden handshake. Not sure of the official stance/wording used at the time but we knew about it.

What happened was each SD was asked to put a list together of the store managers they felt the company would be better off without. That list was then passed to Tony Hoggett who had the final say. The remaining 48? Managers were brown enveloped, the group team turned up, gave them a brown envelope with a settlement in it and half an hour to clear their desk and leave..I knew one of the Store Managers to whom it happened, his store had good figures, he had a good viewpoint, his management team thought highly of him, and so did the store staff, but he was on too much money and he had filed two successful grievances against his SD in the past. Treated very poorly by the Company, although he is working for someone in the third sector now, still highly thought of and very happy

Our SM was one of the ones who were given a brown envelope. TBH I thought he was pretty useless and he was earning an absolute fortune. His pay off was massive, we have had two other SM.s since he left and the first one was absolutely useless and left our store under a cloud on gardening leave only to be given another SM job not to far away. Some have said that had the papers got hold of what the SM did wrong said person probably would have done some prison time. Our current SM came highly recommended only to turn out to be on a par with the previous two. Senior team run rings around him and he only finds out what they want him to know, it's embarrassing to watch his demise unfold. :-X :-X :-X

There was talk the SMs were given an envelope with a 250K cheque, given half an hour before being escorted off the premises. Seems like a lot of money until you see the houses, cars and holidays abroad some of these people get used to.

6 months in the norm I believe - this is more than they would likely get at any tribunal.

They have to sign non disclosure agreement too.

250k is way, way, wayyyy too high.....

No changes planned for SM or ST that I’m aware of.

Any management structure changes are usually piloted somewhere first and there’s been no sign anywhere.

the new management  job role packs have been challenged in our store because how can anyone achieve their role if there job role pack states clearly at the bottom the tasks listed are just a guide, so basically if you face dont fit or you dont stand up for yourself you will get loads of stuff added to your role and can be made to look like a miss.

Usdaw are looking at it on a national level, our area PM is as usual noticeable by her absence and ineptness and SD seems to be staying away from store since he was challenged on the Friday after the consultations started re role packs, usual tesco s***, Ill be glad when more area roles go , these folk are self serving creeps that will do anything to keep their gravy train going

Most of the managers are incompetent, we had a delivery in with no back door man available, the store manager and two other managers took 2 hours just to unload it, no safety equipment, no health and safety at all.  The cost to tesco would be about £160 wages, whilst a back door man would take 1 hour at cost of  £20.  Is this why we are going down into an abyss even Dave cannot save us from.

Too many managers and too many that can't do their job at the same time, coupled with no staff available  due to cuts/leaving.

Are managers really gonna be surprised they have to do the job that GA'S should be doing when it's the mess that it is??
