How is it possible to sit in front of a parliamentary committee investigation in to prices and say something like 'We strive to give our customers the best prices we can' and then sell same product to two different customers for different prices.  Surely they are making more money out of one customer than the other.

Doing all you can on prices should mean selling for the same price to all customers.

Sure the monies given as political 'donations' have absolutely no effect whatsoever on the outcome of any parliamentary committee or public enquires.
Sure our politicians from all parties are bastions of integrity and honesty, and have our best interests at heart.

Note how the follow-up questions are never exactly challenging or searching? Never rock the boat.

Might be better value but I don't necessarily want - or need - a bigger pack. Limited means have to come into budgeting somewhere.

So true! There are many times they could be challenged on what they say and have to explain how they come to certain conclusions but they never are. Just a show to appease us lesser mortals and show us all that they're really nice, genuine people who really care for the great British shopper, just like us in fact

The impact inflation has on food prices has been revealed after a man discovered a Tesco receipt dating back to 1997.

The man happened to stumble across the receipt when he bought an old cassette and couldn't believe the prices of some items. He shared a picture of the receipt on Reddit with many left gobsmacked at the prices.
